Sea Island Amenities

If you are staying at the Inn at Sea Island and would like access to Sea Island golf, tennis, beach club, dining, fitness and spa, you will need a temporary guest card. To obtain a guest card, please email Donna at <a href="mailto:donnamcclatchey@me.com" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">donnamcclatchey@me.com</a> Please email your full name and address which will be forwarded to the membership office. They will contact you to obtain your guest cards. Guest cards are $40 per person, per day. Please email by September 10, 2026 If you book a cottage through Sea Island Cottage Rentals, you will receive full access to all Sea Island amenities included in your rental and will receive guest cards upon check-in. Access will not be grated for VRBOs or Air B &amp; Bs unless offered by the lessor.

History of Sea Island & St. Simons Island

If staying at The Cloister or renting a Sea Island cottage, you will have access to The Beach Club. Otherwise, public access is located on the south end of St. Simon’s Island. St. Simons was just named <a href="https://www.southernliving.com/st-simons-island-ga-8423892" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Southern Living's Top Beach</a> in the South!

St. Simons Island Beaches

The Golden Isles are known for some incredible golf courses and several PGA players call it home. If you stay at a Sea Island property, including the Inn at Sea Island or a Sea Island Cottage, you will have access to the three Sea Island Courses (Seaside, Plantation, Retreat). If you do not stay at a Sea Island property, there are public courses on St. Simons - a nearby one is Sea Palms Resort.

St. Simons Island Golfing

For history buffs, consider visiting the beautiful land that encompasses Fort Frederica. It is located across from Wesley Church at Frederica. Fort Frederica National Monument preserves the archaeological remnants of a fort and town built by James Oglethorpe between 1736 and 1748 to protect the southern boundary of the British colony of Georgia from Spanish raids. About 630 British troops were stationed at the fort. A town of up to 500 colonial residents had grown up outside the fort; it was laid out following principles of the Oglethorpe Plan for towns in the Georgia Colony.

Fort Frederica National Monument

The Wesley Memorial Gardens and Celtic Cross monument were dedicated to John and Charles Wesley on June 12, 1988. This two-acre garden has over 60 varieties of native oak trees, plants, and shrubs, including more than 4,000 azaleas, which bloom around late March-early April. Located between Christ Church and Wesley Church at Frederica. The gardens are open during daylight hours, free of charge, to the public and especially beautiful this time of year.&nbsp; Christ Church is located across the street and is open to visitors Tuesday – Saturday2:00pm – 5:00pm

The St. Simons Island Pier Village district is situated on the southern end of the Island, at the intersection of Mallery Street and Beachview Drive, where it serves as the epicenter of the Golden Isles community. St. Simons’ Pier Village is a popular spot for shopping, dining, socializing, and fun, all with some of the area’s most treasured landmarks and spectacular sights in view. Head to the end of Mallery Street on the southern end of the village to find the promenade and pathway to the St. Simons Island Pier. The pier overlooks the St. Simons Sound and Jekyll Island to the south, as well as the St. Simons Lighthouse and Museum and Neptune Park.
